The Manitowoc K00450 LuminIce® II is a revolutionary sanitation solution designed to keep the “food zone” of your ice machine cleaner for longer. By creating “active air” (a combination of ozone and other oxidizers) that passes over the evaporator and internal components, the LuminIce® II effectively inhibits the growth of yeast, mold, and bacteria. This system is specifically designed for Indigo® series (i-300 to i-1200) and QuietQube® series (i-680C to i-1070C) ice machines. Manager’s Note: The LuminIce® II is particularly essential in environments with high airborne yeast, such as bakeries, breweries, or pizza parlors. Without it, these machines can develop “pink slime” in as little as two weeks. While the kit inhibits growth, it does not replace the need for periodic deep cleaning. For maximum effectiveness, ensure the UV bulb is replaced every 12 months, as the intensity of the light—and its ability to create the plasma—degrades over time even if the bulb still appears to be lit.
