Technician’s Maintenance Tip: Flare washers are a “one-time-use” item; they should be replaced every time you disconnect and reconnect a line to ensures a perfect seal. A missing or worn flare washer is the #1 cause of empty CO2 tanks. Always keep a pack of these in your service kit. Hand-tighten the nut until snug, then use a wrench for a final 1/4 turn to ensure the nylon compresses correctly into the flare seat.
